She shared her heartbreak after watching the loss unfold on live TV, describing the home as a place where she built cherished memories with her family, including the milestones of her children. Although devastated,
by the loss, she expressed gratitude that her family is safe and extended her sympathy to others affected by the fires. Hilton announced that her team is working with nonprofits to assist those impacted and thanked first responders for their efforts. She also urged people to stay safe and support one another during the crisis. As of January 8, the Palisades Fire had burned over 11,800 acres, with the death toll rising to five.
Spencer and Heidi Pratt say their home did not survive the Pacific Palisade fire, Mark Hamill says he and his family were ‘fleeing for our lives’.
A wildfire raging through the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles has forced tens of thousands of people to evacuate as it consumed businesses and homes, including those belonging to celebrities.
The Palisades Fire, driven by strong Santa Ana winds, began in the Santa Monica Mountains late Tuesday morning and quickly engulfed 200 acres within an hour, surging to nearly 3,000 acres by sunset, FOX Weather reported.
Orange County Fire Chief Brian Fennessy joined “Fox News @ Night” on Tuesday to give an update on how firefighters are battling the fast-moving flames, but said there isn’t much that can be done to stop them, so crews are focusing on evacuating and rescuing anyone still in the area.
“Our main focus is getting people, lives out of the way of these fires,” Fennessy said. “There’s not a lot we can do other than get people out of the way of these fires and then try to attack them … certainly in the Palisades, that’s been the story today.”
In a statement to Fox News Digital, Billy Crystal and his wife, Janice Crystal, said they are mourning the loss of their family home.
“Words cannot describe the enormity of the devastation we are witnessing and experiencing,” the couple said in a joint statement.
“We ache for our friends and neighbors who have also lost their homes and businesses in this tragedy. Janice and I lived in our home since 1979. We raised our children and grandchildren here.
Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories that can’t be taken away. We are heartbroken of course but with the love of our children and friends we will get through this.”
“We pray for the safety of the firefighters and first responders,” the statement continued. “The Pacific Palisades is a resilient community of amazing people and we know in time it will rise again. It is our home.”
On Wednesday morning, Sandra Lee revealed her “house is gone.”
“I’m at a hotel. I don’t have a house anymore,” a visibly upset Lee said in the video posted to Instagram.
“My house is gone … the only thing I can do is go to work, and I’m going to go to work today, like I go to work every day. I’m going to rebuild everything. I don’t know how. ”
“For all your prayers-Thank you,” she wrote in the caption. “I’m trying to process all this… I am truly grateful we are all safe. My house is gone-I cried all night and thought about every room, nook, and cranny. It was perfection and now it’s just Ash. Please keep our community, the firefighters and the first responders in your prayers. This is not over-not even close.”

According to TMZ, Hilton owns multiple properties and this particular one was not her primary residence.
Ricki Lake shared photos of her beautiful Malibu property, alerting followers that she had lost her “dream home” in the fires. “It’s all gone,” she wrote, beneath a series of photos of her home before the fire. “I can’t believe I am typing these words.”
Lake says that “a valiant and brave effort” was made by their friend to save the home, but they unfortunately did not succeed. “The place where we planned to grow old together. We never took our heavenly spot on the bluff overlooking our beloved malibu for granted, not even for one second. I shared our sunset views almost daily with all of you.”
“This loss is immeasurable. It’s the spot where we got married 3 years ago,” she said, referencing her third marriage to Ross Burningham. “I grief (sic) along with all of those suffering during this apocalyptic event. Praying for all of my neighbors, my friends, my community, the animals, the firefighters and first responders. More to share soon of how we escaped with Dolly and not much else. For now I grieve,” she concluded.
When reached by Fox News Digital, a representative for Lake said, “No comment.”
“General Hospital” actor Cameron Mathison, who evacuated the area on Tuesday, shared a video on Instagram of his property, completely decimated by the fire.
“We are safe But this is what’s left of our beautiful home,” he wrote. “Our home where our kids were raised and where they wanted to raise their own someday. “Thanks to all who reached out and checked in. Can’t respond to all so wanted to give an update here.”
Reality TV star Spencer Pratt and wife Heidi Montag lost their home in the Palisades Fire, Pratt and Montag confirmed on their Snapchat accounts Tuesday.
In a series of videos, “The Hills” star showed how the fire quickly moved over the hill toward their property.
ACTOR STEVE GUTTENBERG HELPS PALISADES FIRE FIRST RESPONDERS AS FLAMES RAGE, ‘IT’S A GHOST TOWN’
“Well, this isn’t looking good,” Pratt said while videoing the fire on the mountain behind their home. “First time I’ve seen the flames coming over. Aw, man. Okay, I’m going to go pack up I think.”
He later posted a video from his car stating that he was watching their home burn down on their security cameras. Pratt shared a photo of his kid’s room, saying it had burned in the shape of a heart.
Montag posted a video in a grocery store stating that their house did burn, but they are safe.
“Well, this isn’t looking good. First time I’ve seen the flames coming over. Aw man. OK, I’m going to go pack up I think.”

TV personality and model Brooke Burke, who evacuated her Malibu home last month during the Franklin Fire, told Fox News Digital that “it’s an absolute s— show,” in Los Angeles.
“I have at least a handful of my very close friends that [have] lost their homes. It’s devastating and it’s not over yet. We are sleeping on our couch, kids and animals in different places. I cannot believe what’s happening [in] my community.”
MALIBU WILDFIRE FORCES CELEBRITIES TO FLEE LUXURY HOMES AS DEVASTATIONS SPREADS
“Star Wars” actor Mark Hamill, who also lives in Malibu, told followers that he had evacuated “so last-minute” that fires had formed on both sides of the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) – his avenue out of the city.
“We were fleeing for our lives,” he wrote in a post to Instagram. Hamill says he, his wife Marilou and dog Trixie evacuated to his daughter Chelsea’s home in Hollywood. Last month, Hamill was “not allowed” to leave his home, forced into lockdown mode when the fires hit his city.
Jamie Lee Curtis wrote that her “community and possibly my home is on fire,” to social media, along with a harrowing image of the wildfires. “My family is safe. Many of my friends will lose their homes.
Many other communities as well. There are so many conflicting reports. With all the technology there seems to be very little information. PLEASE POST FACTS! IT WILL HELP THOSE WONDERING!”
She continued, “It is a terrifying situation and I’m grateful to the firefighters and all of the good Samaritans who are helping people get out of the way of the blaze. Neighbors have taken care of neighbors.
We ALL take everything for granted because we are all living our lives but when it hits your community, it’s particularly shocking. Life on life’s terms. If ever there was need for the use of the phrase MY HAND IN YOURS, it is right now. Take care of each other. Stay out of the way and let the firefighters do their work. Pray if you believe in it and even if you don’t, pray for those who do.”
Steve Guttenberg reminds LA of shared humanity during wildfires: ‘Just wheeling a small suitcase behind you’
Actress Mandy Moore shared on her Instagram story that she and her three children, as well as cats and dogs, were able to evacuate, writing “Praying and grateful for the first responders.” On Wednesday morning, the actress shared that her friends had opened their home as a shelter, although she wasn’t sure if her own house had made it through the night.
“Trying to shield the kids from the immense sadness and worry I feel,” she wrote on her Instagram story. “Praying for our beautiful city. So gutted for the destruction and loss. Don’t know if our place made it.”
Brad Paisley revealed the first home he and wife, Kimberly Williams Paisley shared, had also burned down.
“We lived in Pacific Palisades for years,” he wrote on Instagram. “It was the first house Kim and I bought together.”
Paisley recalled the various memories made there including prepping the baby’s nursery, birthing classes and walking to the local restaurants.
“That beautiful old house burned last night,” he continued. “As did most of that community. So many good people displaced, devastated and cast out all over LA. I would post a link to donate or raise awareness or something but it all feels so much bigger than that.
I don’t know where to begin. I’m sure those of you reading this will find some way to help if you can, but mostly right now I just want to mourn the loss of a town. And acknowledge the beauty and the memories of what it was. It is all so tragic and sad.”
“Beverly Hills, 90210” actress Jennie Garth shared on Wednesday that she was fleeing her home due to the shift in winds. Garth said she was able to salvage pictures, even taking some off the walls.
Have you ever wondered what these celeb ex-couples’ kids would’ve looked like if they’d had any? Well, someone on the internet did and utilized the help of AI to get the answer to their question. Of course, it’s not 100% accurate, as some of these stars have had plastic surgery, and AI can be a bit wonky. However, let’s suspend our disbelief and have some fun, shall we?
Sarah Jessica Parker and Robert Downey Jr.
Sarah Jessica Parker and Robert Downey Jr. broke up after seven years together, due to Robert’s issues with illegal substances. Sarah has expressed, “There was a huge amount of time spent making sure he was okay.”
Luckily, the actor has since gotten clean, and he’s now married and has three children. Parker has also gotten married and has three kids. It seems that the two A-listers were destined for the same path — just not together, and that’s okay!
Joaquin Phoenix and Liv Tyler
Being the classy pair they are, it’s no surprise that Joaquin Phoenix and Liv Tyler’s three-year relationship ended amicably. Phoenix explained, “At a certain point, I think we stopped evolving with each other, stopped progressing, and made a very mature decision to move on, even though there was still a great love there.”
It all worked out, though. Joaquin is now married and has a child, and Liv is a mom of three.
Sofia Coppola and Keanu Reeves
Sofia Coppola and Keanu Reeves are both pretty private, so it’s unknown exactly why their relationship lasted less than a year. They’ve each moved on, though. Both celebrities are married, and Coppola has two children.
When asked in separate interviews about what relationship advice they’d give their fans, Keanu responded with, “If you’re a lover, you’ve got to be a fighter… because if you don’t fight for your love, what kind of love do you have?” And Sofia said, “Don’t get married before 30.”
Amy Schumer and Ben Hanisch
Amy Schumer and Ben Hanisch were together for roughly a year and a half before calling it quits, with “thoughtful consideration,” although they never gave a reason why. Hanisch seems to be in a relationship now, though it’s hard to be sure as he’s been out of the public eye since dating Schumer.
As for the comedian, she’s now married and has a child who she accidentally named Gene Attell — think about it.
Avril Lavigne and Mod Sun
It’s believed that Mod Sun was blindsided by Avril Lavigne calling off their two-year-long relationship as, at the time, a rep for the rapper claimed that “they were together and engaged as of three days ago when Mod left for tour so if anything has changed that’s news to him.”
Both musicians seem to be single right now, although there have been rumors that Lavigne is dating Tyga — which she denies.
Billie Eilish and Jesse Rutherford
Billie Eilish and Jesse Rutherford’s relationship sparked debate during its seven-month run, due to their 10-year age gap. Given that they’re both adults, that’s all fine and well. However, it’s worth pointing out that Billie was just a teenager when they first met.
The pair split amicably, remain friends, and according to Eilish’s rep, “All cheating rumors are false.“ We’re inclined to believe that, seeing as how both musicians are currently single.
Ariana Grande and Big Sean
There are two versions of the story as to why Ariana Grande and Big Sean broke up after almost a year together. Ariana’s representatives have said that the couple ended things because their different tour schedules would keep them apart for almost as long as they’d been together.
Ryan Gosling and Sandra Bullock
As far as Ryan Gosling is concerned, the media is to blame for his two-year relationship with Sandra Bullock ending. The actor has said, “Show business is the bad guy. When both people are in show business, it’s too much show business. It takes all of the light, so nothing else can grow.”
It seems that they’ve since learned how to balance fame and love, as both actors are in long-term relationships, and each has two kids. Both keep their romances private — maybe that’s the trick?
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth had an on-again-off-again relationship for nearly ten years. However, it seems that they’re truly done, given the hinted implications in Miley’s song “Flowers”.
At the time of their divorce, the couple cited “irreconcilable differences,” however, Cyrus’s latest tune seems to say that Liam wasn’t faithful. Neither celebrity has confirmed or denied the rumors, but they’ve both indicated that there’s always love between them, even if their marriage didn’t work out.
One of the great joys of being a parent is seeing your children grow and succeed, but what if you couldn’t see or hear?
Forty-one-year-old Torbjörn Svensson of Sweden can neither see nor hear due to a rare genetic disorder. But as a dedicated father, he works hard—and advocates for extra help—to make sure he doesn’t miss those special moments in his children’s lives.
“It’s very important for me to be involved in my children’s lives … because my son must have his father there and have my support,” he said in an interview with the Epoch Times that he was able to do with his Focus 14 braille display, which helps him communicate through tactile sign language.
Svensson has Usher Syndrome, a rare inherited condition that affects both hearing and vision, leading to partial or total hearing loss and vision impairment.
He was diagnosed with Usher Syndrome at the age of 28. Before that he worked as a truck driver, living a “free and good life” on the road. Things changed, however, when the rare condition started to take over, slowly damaging his vision and hearing.
Svensson says living a “normal” life is pretty much impossible for him, but that hasn’t stopped him from living a good life. With his two children from a previous relationship and his fiancée and her two children, he continues to make fatherhood his top priority. Naturally, one of his favorite places to support his children is on the soccer field.
In a video on Instagram, he shares what it’s like to support his child while also receiving the support he needs to make it possible.
The majestic beauty of the American bald eagle never fails to inspire true patriots. An Ohio craftsman has immortalized this inspiration by carving two massive wooden bald eagle sculptures, which were recently honored during a flag-raising ceremony.
Local craftsman James McGrath, from McConnelsville, sculpted the giant bald eagles—“Fly By” and “Freedom”—for his client, Vietnam veteran Ron Hall.
The impressive project, symbolizing the strength and freedom of the United States, was undertaken to honor veterans for their selfless service.
“These are some of the largest bald eagle carvings in the world!” McGrath told The Epoch Times.
Hall and McGrath’s shared project, which started around the Fourth of July and has since grown significantly, was conceived as a personal venture. However, it didn’t take long for local residents to notice the mighty sculptures slowly coming to life. Once the carvings were complete, the crowd of admirers only grew stronger.
On receiving an overwhelming response to his iconic creations, McGrath told The Epoch Times that he’s truly humbled.
“What an amazing project,“ he said. ”I am humbled by the public’s interest in my art.”
McGrath told WTAP-TV that he wanted to put an old tree to full use in a more creative way, instead of just carving a 4-foot bird.
After Hall encouraged him, telling him that he had the creative ability to go ahead and “just make it,” McGrath transformed the wooden lump into a 12-foot-6-inch-tall soaring bald eagle stand-alone masterpiece.
Carving both eagles took about a week to 10 days, with 8 hours of crafting work each day, according to the report.
“A lot of people are taking interest in it. … If it satisfies the community that much I’m all for it,” McGrath told the outlet.
The breathtaking work of art has been attracting traffic to the area since then. On Aug. 13, the bald eagle sculptures were displayed in their full glory after being commemorated in a special, official flag-raising ceremony.
McGrath said that it was “amazing” to have the veteran color guard do the official flag raising and to witness how much the community has loved their project.
“I think this is a wonderful addition for some people to really understand what our country is here for,” Hall told the outlet in another interview.
The captivating display is an apt ode to veterans and is surely serving to inspire the community as well. Check out some more photos below:
For Nancy, her son Henry was everything. She could never imagine a life without him. It had been 23 years since the tragic accident that claimed his life, but not a year had gone by without her honoring his memory. Every year on the anniversary of his passing, she brought his favorite apple and cinnamon pie to his grave—a ritual she had maintained with unwavering devotion. This year, however, something unexpected was about to happen. Nancy, now 61, had never missed a single year. The simple yet delicious pie had been Henry’s favorite since he was a little boy. The scent of apples and cinnamon always transported her back to the days when Henry would run into the kitchen, his eyes lighting up at the sight of the freshly baked dessert. Those moments had become precious memories, and baking the pie was her way of keeping them alive. Since Henry’s passing at 17, the ritual had given her a small sense of connection, a way to feel like she was still doing something special for him. The pain of losing him had never fully faded, but this yearly tradition had softened the ache in her heart. On this particular anniversary, just like every year before, Nancy carefully carried the pie to Henry’s grave. The weight of the dish felt heavier with each step, as it always did when she approached his resting place. The grave was adorned with fresh flowers, a testament to how much he was still loved. Kneeling at the gravestone, Nancy gently placed the pie down. “Henry,” she whispered, her voice tender with emotion, “I brought your favorite again. I miss you every day.” Tears welled up in her eyes, but she managed a soft smile, recalling the days when he would sneak a bite before the pie was done. “I wish we could share it again, just once more.” After a few moments of quiet reflection, Nancy kissed her fingers and touched the top of the gravestone, saying her quiet goodbye. As always, she would return the next day to clean up whatever remained of the pie, a bittersweet ritual she had followed for over two decades. But this time, something was different. When she returned the following day, Nancy’s heart skipped a beat. The plate was empty. For 23 years, the pie had always been untouched or spoiled by the weather, a silent reminder of Henry’s absence. But now, the pie was gone, and in its place, a small folded note sat on the plate. Her hands trembled as she picked it up, unfolding it with caution. The handwriting was shaky, as though whoever wrote it had struggled to form the letters. The note simply read: “Thank you.” Nancy’s heart raced with confusion and anger. Who had taken the pie meant for her son? It had been a deeply personal gesture, and someone had intruded on it. Determined to find out who had disturbed her sacred ritual, Nancy decided to take matters into her own hands. The next day, she baked another pie—Henry’s favorite—just like she had done so many times before. But this time, she didn’t leave. She hid behind a large oak tree near the grave, watching and waiting for the mysterious person who had taken the pie. An hour passed before she saw movement. A small figure emerged—a young boy, no older than nine, dressed in ragged clothes. He cautiously approached the grave, clearly hesitant. Nancy’s heart softened as she watched him. This wasn’t the thief she had imagined. The boy knelt by the grave and pulled out a small scrap of paper, carefully writing something with a dull pencil. Nancy realized it was the same note she had found the day before. He wasn’t stealing the pie—he was just a hungry child, grateful for the unexpected gift. The anger that had consumed her melted away in an instant. She stepped out from behind the tree, and the boy, startled by her sudden appearance, dropped the pie. “I’m sorry!” he cried, panicking. “I didn’t mean to steal it. I was just so hungry.” Nancy’s heart broke as she knelt beside him. “It’s alright, sweetheart,” she said softly. “You don’t have to steal. If you’re hungry, all you had to do was ask.” The boy, whose name was Jimmy, admitted he didn’t have a family to care for him and had been surviving on what little he could find. Nancy’s eyes filled with tears, not of sadness but of compassion. She took his hand and said, “Come with me. I’ll bake you a fresh pie.” Back at her home, Nancy baked another pie, just as she had done for Henry all those years. Jimmy watched her intently, his eyes wide with anticipation. When the pie was finally done, he devoured it with such joy that Nancy couldn’t help but smile through her own tears. As she watched Jimmy eat, Nancy realized that this unexpected encounter had given her a new sense of purpose. In a way, Henry’s memory had brought them together. By helping this boy, she was honoring her son in a way she had never imagined. Her grief had led her to something beautiful—a connection that filled the emptiness in her heart. Perhaps this was Henry’s way of sending her a message—that love and kindness should always find their way to those in need. Nancy smiled, her heart warm with gratitude, knowing that she had found a new way to keep Henry’s memory alive.
